Finally – Buy Visual Studio online in NZ

VS08_h_rgbAfter how many years?  We’ve been working with the team at Mindscape to make it possible to purchase Visual Studio online – and its ready to go!

Why is this such good news?  Many developers work on their own (or are contractors) and want to purchase or renew Visual Studio quickly and simply with their credit card online.  Until now you’ve had to phone people and fill in paper forms (crazy stuff, I know).  Today, you can point your browser at http://getvs.net.nz and shop away.

To sweeten things you can also purchase Mindscape’s renowned Lightspeed to streamline working with data, or one of their other cool developer products. at the same time.

Not only this, but the fine folk at Mindscape have also streamlined the options to present you with the most popular Visual Studio editions.  You don’t need a degree in licensing to work out what version you want to buy – the options are simple.

But wait, there’s more.  Once you’ve purchased, the website will help you remember what you’ve bought and remind you when its coming time to renew your subscription so that you don’t get caught out.

And, in addition to selling the products, offering their own products and helping you remember what you’ve bought, they can also come to you and help you work through what you need for a simple flat fee, or help you make the most of your purchase. All this for a (very) modest fee.  Check out all their services here.

If you’ve been holding back purchasing Visual Studio – it just got a whole lot easier. If you need help, it is now readily available.

Any chance of doing this with Expression as well?

Hi Kevin,

I've added the Expression Professional Subscriptions. If you're more interested in a single edition of the expression family then please let me know and I'll add them.

Otherwise, you should now see the the subscription options for expression here: http://www.getvs.net.nz/store/browse/microsoft

I hope that helps - please let me know what you think.

Thanks JD.
Could you also add the Expression Blend one by itself? (my preference would be everything, but depending on finances if I had to choose that's the one I'd go for).
Also, are all subscriptions for 3 years or is it possible to buy a single year's worth?

Hi Kevin,

I'll look at adding the single boxed product for blend tomorrow.

Generally speaking, you can get 1 year options however they cost *almost* as much as the three year options. However, you can obtain a 3 year agreement but pay annually which leads to substantial savings over the the single year boxed product.

If you want to chat more about it please don't hesitate to call me - my number is on the site Smile

Cheers,

Hi Kevin,

I have done some checking this morning and it does not appear it is possible to purchase Expression Blend standalone. It must be acquired through the subscription OR as part of Expression Studio 3.

I have added the standalone Expression Studio 3 product here: http://www.getvs.net.nz/store/products/EXP-STUDIO

I hope that helps,

- JD

Um, the "Next" button on the cart checkout doesn't do anything.
At least not right now.
(And there was me all psyched up to spend serious money...)
